Delve deep into the theory behind the knots and wraps and drops of this intricate vertical apparatus with Jamie Hodgson and Molly Graves, known for their work advancing
the creative elements of this popular circus apparatus. Don’t just do the tricks - understand why they work, when they don’t work, and how to twist them up and make them something different.
Bring your brain and your aerial body for a weekend of creative and technical work. Participants must have a broad aerial fabric background and be comfortable inverting in the air frequently. You must be able to execute cross back straddle, hip key in the air (windmill entrance), star and double star, three pull ups and have at least 1 full year of aerial fabric experience.
Coach Information - Jamie Hodgson is the ProTrack and Operations director at NECCA. For years she has been tying peoples' brains up in knots with fabric theory and helping them to find their own pathways in the air. She loves to "get weird" and help students think outside the box. Molly Graves is a Tennessee native who boasts a life-long interest in all things acrobatic. Molly has performed as a guest artist with Acrobatic Conundrum; at Circus Now’s 2015 International Contemporary Circus Exposure in NY; and at the International Aerial Acrobatic Arts Festival in Denver, CO, where she was awarded “Best Technical Performance” for her aerial rope act in 2014. Additionally, she counts herself lucky to be a member of the inspiring & empowering company Girls on Trapeze, and has trained extensively with Emiliano Ron, "The Rope Master".
