Material requirements:You will need 2 meters of plain white fabric (muslin or even a cotton sheet) for creating the pattern. The slipcover fabric should be pre-washed and drier shrunk before second class and have no significant pattern to match. Suitable fabrics will be discussed in the first class.

Please note we will be working from a chair that lives at The Makehouse so that students are not transporting furniture to and from the shop each week. The techniques that you will learn can be applied to any chair or sofa that you wish to cover in the future! You can also practice the techniques on your home furniture in-between weeks so that you are working on your own piece of furniture while the information is fresh in your mind!

Equipment requirements: Please note that we can provide a sewing machine for you to use in the studio, but you are more than welcome to bring your machine from home. Please let us know in advance and remember to bring the manual and foot pedal/power cord.
