This workshop presents an opportunity for parent and child to explore together the fascinating world of encaustic painting (i.e. painting with beeswax). Painting with beeswax - with the addition of heat to make the paint molten - makes it possible to create a variety of effects and surfaces that we don’t
achieve with paint. Sharon will guide the exploration using creative exercises. Parents will supervise the safe use of heat guns and hot palettes, along with providing input and encouragement for their budding artist(s). Each child participant will take home at least 2 completed works of art.
This workshop is open to children aged 6 to 12 and teenagers aged 13 to 17. A parent must be present with their child/teenager during the entire the workshop; registration cost includes one child/parent pair.
