This beautifully programmed recital demonstrates Angela Hewitt’s affinity with the Baroque.
The first half features a selection of sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti and Ravel’s tribute to Scarlatti’s near-contemporary, François Couperin.
The second half comprises Bach’s virtuosic yet lyrical Partita No.4
and Beethoven’s famous Moonlight Sonata – perhaps the best-known work in the piano repertoire.
-: D. Scarlatti: Sonatas to be announced
Ravel: Le tombeau de Couperin
JS Bach: Partita No.4 in D, BWV.828
Beethoven: Sonata in C sharp minor, Op.27 No.2 (Quasi una fantasia - Moonlight)
