Germantown Ballpark has been making big strides to improve its program and get our community involved. We proudly hold one of the most prestigious baseball & softball programs in this area. Germantown annually provides opportunities for boys & girls, ages 4-16, hosting as many as 700 families a year
and counting. That being said, we like to reward and recognize our participants, supporters and community in a big way.
On behalf of Germantown Ballpark, we invite you to join us and celebrate our 66th Annual Opening Day Parade scheduled for Saturday, April 14, 2018. This year, we will have as usual, the mayor and other local dignitaries, but are inviting local celebrities to join us as well in an all out celebration. Ben Davis of WDJX will be the emcee for the day.
Our parade is set to begin promptly at 9:00 am at Hauck's located at the corner of Hoertz & Goss Avenues in the heart of our Germantown community. We will detour through the Germantown neighborhood and conclude our procession at Germantown Ballpark located at 1537 Poplar Level Road, directly next to St. Xavier High School. Opening ceremony will commence at approximately 10:15-10:30 am.
I have obtained a Louisville Metro Special Event Permit and have made arrangements with the Louisville Metro Police Department for street closures. The neighborhood & local businesses are anxious & excited to host our parade and we are very optimistic the community will take part in such an exciting day. The actual parade is expected to last approximately an hour. The opening ceremony should only take approximately 20 minutes. In the past, the Germantown parade has been a successfully safe and fun day for our children.
